Got a fatty of Kodiak in my lip right now, floating the YAK tomorrow, forcast says 80 degrees in Ellensburg tomorrow. American Grannom comming off early this year. If you salmon fisherman have never hit this fishery with a buggy whip, NOW!! is the time, it is a lot of fun(fish rising everywhere). Got to get up a 5:30 and it is 1:30, better get to bed. Check it out for a change of pace.

I believe that Hank is saying "Trot" line, which describes the way they used to run (trot) to check their rigs for catfish. Usually done by the youngsters before and after school.

The preacher man says its the end of time
and the Mississippi River she's a going dry.
The interest is up and the stock markets down
and you only get mugged if you go downtown.
I live back in the woods you see,
my woman, and the kids and the dogs and me.
I got a shotgun and a rifle and a four wheel drive
and a country boy can survive. Country folks can survive.

I can plow a field all day long,
I can catch catfish from dusk till dawn.
Make our own whiskey and our own smoke too
ain't to many things these boys can't do.
We grow good old tomatoes and homemade wine
and country boy can survive, country folk can survive.

Because you can't stomp us out and you can't make us run,
cause we're them ole boys raised on shotguns.
We say grace and we say ma'am
and if you ain't into that we don't give a damn.
We came from the West Virginia coal mine's
and the Rocky Mountains and the Western skies
and we can skin a buck, we can run a trot line
and a country boy can survive, country folks can survive.

I had a good friend in New York City
he never called me by my name just hillbilly.
My Grandpa taught me how to live off the land
and his taught him to be a business man
He used to send me pictures of the Broadway Nights
and I would send him some homemade wine
but he was killed by a man with a switchblade knife,
for forty three dollars my friend lost his life.
I'd love to spit some beechnut in that dudes eyes
and shoot him with my ole forty-five
cause a country boy can survive, country folks can survive.

'Cause you can't stomp us out and you can't make us run,
and we're them ole boys raised on shotgun.
We say grace, we say ma'am,
if you ain't into that we don't give a damn.
We're from North California and SOUTH ALABAM'
and little towns all around this land.
We can skin a buck, and run a trot line
and a country boy can survive,
country folks can survive,
country boy can survive,
country folks can survive.

-----It is TROT line, and it's not necassarily catfish you are targeting with one of those things. You are basically just seeing what you can catch. Catfish, bass, river gar, alligator gar, snapping turtles, and alligators.

My "Baccer" of choice is Skoal wintergreen longcut or straight longcut.

Hey Redneck,

Is that where they got the name "Skoal Bandits". I knew you were an outlaw, but....... laugh

It's 'hagen for me. My friend calls it "worm dirt", but it tastes better than the stuff I get my crawlers in.

Hope that "Chaw" tastes good, because it's even worse for you then cigarettes. I was buying my favorite can of Kodiak one day when they guy next to me says that he used to chew the same. Now he gets to carry a Clostomy Bag. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a bag that holds your feces after your butt has been rotted out by cancer. Enjoy your next dip!! eek

I was a "Cope" guy for six years, wow, I miss that snuff (I mean stuff) My wife convinced m to quit, well actually the sleepless nights on the couch helped a bit too. (and the small growth Dr. Weebee took off the inside of my mouth) Hardest thing I ever had to do.. I would sneak out in my truck at 2 am and sneak a dip.... but I got through it... Now in my line of work its really hard to do....
But once in a while I get to smell a can and that seems to be enough for me.

It's not health food, but "worse than cigarettes" is a stretch. It's not that we don't KNOW it's not good for us, many of my favorite things aren't, but you didn't walk to work today because car accidents are one of the leading causes of death for younger people did you?

Besides, if I didn't drink and didn't smoke, what WOULD I do??

Reading these posts, I have to mention the new Copenhagen "Black". Bourbon flavored! I haven't tried it yet, (use Kodiak myself) but evry once in a while I get a hankerin' for Cope', and seeing the add for "bourbon" flavored has spiked my interest. It's not like they are on to something new. Cope' users have been spiking their tobacco with booze for ever. But this is one heck of a piece of marketing.
