OK so we got our opening on the Snake, my question now is: where do you fish? The dam counts seem to point to the peak of the run being around Lowe Granite dam now, but there are lots of fish still coming. Do these fish travel in the 10 to 25 foot range like the steelhead? It would be really cool to hear from someone that has actually fished the Snake for springers. Im heading to the Snake on Thursday for a long weekend, it will sure be nice to have some room (unlike the Wind). BTW I was at the Wind last weekend and got one of Friday and was skunked Saturday and Sunday. Finally, does anyone know where to get hering in Eastern Washington?? things seem to have dried up over here.

hay:just got back from Albertsons in Richland they had a good supply. so far this side of the state hasnt been hit that hard you shouldnt have a hard time finding it.soon as the snake opens that may change.Im going wdnesday, I'm going either just above little Goose or just below .I've got a bunch of K-16's I use them for fall run fish. sounds like every one is useing k-14s for springers should I go out and break the bank or have you heard rather 16's are working?

It's been thirty years since anyone fished for springers on the lower Snake (legally), so I can't tell you much there, but a little farther up on the Clearwater, k-14's have been the ticket....chrome with a chartreuse tail. Also have seen solid orange mag warts catching fish. Not that the k-15 and 16's wouldn't work, but you've got to remember that most of us are a bunch of steelheaders and the 16's are a little bigger than we are used to. Last time I looked White's outdoors in Spokane had herring. goodluck

I THINK THAT WATERSEDGE IN CLARKSTON WA. HAS HERRING AND SARDINES.i KNOW THAT WHITES IN SPOKANE HAS SARDINE FILLETS AND THEY ARE LIMITING THE AMOUNT OF HERRING YOU CAN BUY AT ONE TIME
