Checking airfares over at www.travelocity.com and saw that from now through June 14, you can fly round trip from SeaTac to Anchorage for $176.90 ... about half of what it's been running.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this extended as the summer goes on.

If anyone's been thinking about coming up and fishing the Kenai Peninsula, these airfares just sweeten the pot a little for some great last minute deals that we have on our remaining slots ... of which there are still some decent ones available for the end of May and early June ... a great time for Kasilof kings as well as saltwater fishing for both kings and halibut.

July dates are pretty much wiped out save for a stray open seat or two here and there, but we've still got some August silver seats open for a neat fishery in which we backbounce silvers on flyrods in a couple of feet of water ... too fun!

Glad to see the rates have dropped, hope they stay that way for everyone's sake!

Also check out Cheaptickets.com for some great airfares to AK. I saved over 300.00 for my 2 trips this summer.

Sure be nice if they ran that fare through July, I'm looking at $330 right now.

Check out the www.alaskaair.com web site as they have an additional 10% discount for booking on line through May 15th (I believe). Didn't know it until last week when I booked my two summer trips up that way. I know Bob is a guide up on the Kenai & Kasilof (I've fished both), but if you've never experienced the fishing and the peace and solitude of some of SE Alaska, you might check it out. Lots of opportunities for skif (or vehicle) and cabin rentals for do-it-yourselvers, like me. Regardless....have fun in my second "home" state.

Oh man, my wife said no "call of the North" trips this summer . I'm still going to try for it with those prices! . I've only gone to AK & BC in late June, July, and August/first week of Sept. Is the possibility of too high and murky of water from rain/snowmelt combo more in early June or similar? Thanks.
