I'm hearing a variety of debate on which electric trolling motor is better- (Minn-Kota-Motor Guide)...my head is spinning on which one to purchase. I know what size of shaft (50"), thrust (50 plus), 12-24 volt battery & bow mount. I'm hearing get a Auto Pilot and then I'm hearing NOT to get an Auto Pilot due to maintaince problems.... rolleyes frown .
Someone please help me out with some sage advice about the auto pilot dilemma!

Take the autopilot money and buy yourself a motorguide. I've been running both for the last 20 years. Motorguide builds a better motor. I've run a couple of autopilots, and have not liked them with any wind or current. If your looking for complete hand free fishing, spend the money for a Pinpoint. Personally, I prefer a hand control motor with a kicker bar. Hope this helps.
