I am looking into going on a new venture & would like to know some good spots & what to use for Sturgeon on the Columbia River.

My favorite is:

Launch out of Warrenton on the Oregon side west of Astoria. Buy your bait right there at the Warrenton ramp...Anchovies...follow the river out through the Marina etc....go straight out to about 10-20'...anchor up, bait, cast and wait.

Thanks for all your much appreciated info. It's off for Big Buts in the Straights & then off for Sturgeon. Tell you all how I did on the flip Flop.

I also like Jim's suggestion. Just be cautious trying to come back across Young's Bay. It can be nasty with the wind blasting through there in the afternoons and with the tide change.
