I'm still working out the kinks, but here's two copies of the same movie. Not for those with a skinny pipe to the internet. Fat pipers will have no problem. Again, you'll need to use Apple's QuickTime to view the movie. http://quicktime.apple.com

I'm using my Canon PowerShot G1 digital camera for the movies. It only takes 30 second movie clips, hence the edits and disruptions. I haven't completely figured out iMovie yet, so I can't quite export the movies to where I'm happy with them. Oh well.

Enjoy.

Here's the imovie:

Here's just copy/pasted QuickTime segment. No edits.

Parker,

Are you using a firewire connection from your camera to the Mac? Editing software like Adobe premiere or Final cut pro would probably make digitizing ang editing a little easier, although justifying the expense to the University might be a little difficult. Also, Media cleaner pro 4.0 is great for exporting movies in all of the popular formats (Quicktime, AVI, Realvideo etc.) smile

Nope. The Canon G1 is a stand-alone digital camera, not a DV camcorder. The camera only supports USB, not FireWire. Even if it did, I highly doubt iMovie would understand the camera.

The only real problem I'm having with iMovie is exporting the movie in to something with good quality, that isn't in the hundred of MB's. It's just a matter of me choosing the correct export options. Since I'm a novice at DV movies, I don't think I'm making all the correct choices yet.

Oh well, I'll get there eventually.

I *am*, however, borrowing a DV camera for the trip up to AK with Bob. Be looking for some cool King videos on the Kasilof when I return in late July. My goal is to film a take-down from one of these Kasilof Monster Kings. It's *way* cool!

In the meantime, I'll keep playing around with my digital camera as I go fishing.

Pretty cool, Parker. laugh

That was funny how that fish took that plug before you got a chance to let the line out all the way. I like that new digi camera of yours, it rocks!
