In a lot of rivers we have gotten more and earlier moss along with the warmer, lower, and sunshined on water this spring. This is going to take a toll on backtrolling plugs and divers, backbouncing, driftfishing, and blades, etc. I guess doing a lot of floatfishing with bait and jigs is in order. What other ideas to get around this prob do ya have? A few steelhead rivers aren't as prone to getting moss; just e-mail about those that don't get moss - to me only laugh . jk

One suggestion that would greatly help is this: Boat owners, clean off all the damn moss of your boat before you leave a body of water to keep from spreading it to another body of water. It's so simple, even I thought of it.

Yeah, 'Yall that's a good tip. That water milfoil, or whatever it's called is some nasty [Bleeeeep!]. I heard it sucks the oxygen away from the water and fish can suffocate as a result, especially in lakes.

Especially in lakes. Once that stuff spreads in clear water it will take over. We had to darken up the water on some of our ponds back home to keep it from choking the life out of it. It was a pain in the ass to battle, and I imagine that the only thing a river could do to control it naturally, would be to flood.
