i am sitting here in the sun wondering if i should buy a new lamiglas for the new season. i have a baitcaster already, but need to upgrade my spinner. i've been looking at a g1000 g1307, or possibly a g1311 both 8'6. i'm not sure if the 1307 is tough enough for river plunking. any thoughts, i always seem to go overkill on my rods, but i've seen plenty break before. also looking at a Berkely AIR Im7, sure like the feel and the price of it. seems like a great rod Anyone got any experience with one of these? cool

In just ordered an Allstar Rod. I have heard alot about them and a few people I respect are now using them. There is supposed to a ton of performance for a reasonable price. rolleyes

Definately try an allstar. most people have been pleasantly suprised, I would suggest a 1025 spinning rod if you are looking for something in the 8'6" length.
Peace Superfly

P.S. Tilla, where did you order your allstar from?

I would probably say avoid the (Buzz R.)Berkley IM7 8'6 Spinning rod, I've broken 5 of these over the last 5 years all in the same spot. The only good thing is that BiMart has handed me a new one every time I've brought them back in. Or you could look at it this way,5 nice graphite rods for 79.00. They fish nice til they snap, but for plunking I'd go heavier..

I have a Lami 1307, and love it. I wouldn't use it for plunking, not enough backbone for the heavier weights.
