It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Quite a few fish around now but the water temp is up and the rivers are low. You can see em but you cant catch many. Havent been to the Hoh for a while but that might be pretty good.

Did the Clawah this afternoon and there are plenty of fish and no biters. There all stacked in the frog water around the North Pond right now. If you hit it at daylight you can do OK but Ive been to lazy to get up that early lately.

This Cougar fished the forks hole last night and this morning with my father in law , a Beaver. First time up for him. The Hoh was high and off color, glacial silt. Also fished the Sol Duc yesterday and today. Showed him the fish in the north pond. No biters. Hooked one this morning at the forks hole and the hook broke off. Just need to fish the faster water below the north pond. The fish are there.

A tip for you guys-

Try the first riffle in the Bogey above Leyendeckers at first light, then move upstream a bit to the first few runs above Wilsons. There are fish there, try Whale Rock pool. Try a 3-inch cerise (hot pink) #4 bunny fly on an intermediate line for the low, slow flows before the sun hit the water. The fish in the Calawah are zipper lipped for some reason, go for the few freasher fish downstream. It's worked well for me this season.

Bill.

Had a great time!
Went outa westport first to load the freezer, then enjoyed the sun!
managed to wrestle one summer run out and found a great new campsite to boot!
thanks for all the info and friendly banter...never thunk it would take fishing to actually listen to a fuskie, but I'm glad for it now :p
