Yeah, I guess that I'm what some of you call a "lurker".
Unfortunately, due to my job, I'm residing in San Diego for a few years.
I'm thinkin of (actually I'm plannin on) spendin my two weeks of vacation in the Forks area camping and fishin fer Salmon.
I've hooked a few Kings in the Sol Duc but only landed one, they always seem to squat down on the bottom and either snag me up or I get impatient and break them off.
Anyway I've always tried to hit the river the third week in October but a number of people have insisted that the middle of November is better for Kings. I'd like to know, from anyone kind enough to reply, that if you were in my situation, when would you schedule yer vacation? Assuming that rain and river levels aren't a problem. I understand that run timing is tough at best but would rather catch one BRIGHT king (and, hopefully, a handful of silvers) than a mess of dark Kings.
I've been fishing the Sol Duc every year in October since the late eighties but am thinkin of tryin the Hoh this year.
Any words of advice or encouragement will be greatly appreciated.
If yer not comfortable with answering on the BB please e-mail me.
Thanx & Tight Lines to all
Sincerely,
Roger
