My wife And her twin brother, Are now the new owners of Kalama River Bait and Tackle. I will even be there on occasion. We are looking for suggestions on how to make this store one of the best takckle shops in SW WA. The main change that my wife is implenting is, The store will actually be open .
We would like to cater to your needs so any suggestions would be much apperciated.
For you hungry anglers there will be a HOT deli coming soon.
Thank you, And drop in and say hi.

Thats awesome congratulations!! My suggestions are pretty simple. One would be to have a decent inventory of tackle always have fresh not soft and mushy shrimpers and of course be real friendly to us when we come in there or call for updates on conditions and fishing. the good deli is a score also so we can stop on our way from slab hole to modrow and get some lunch as it is a short walk up from the river.

are you going to be moving up that way?

One suggestion is to have a shuttle service. The reason that I go into the other tackle store over there is to get a shuttle. I end up buying $5.00 or $10.00 worth of supplies, bait or food once I'm in there. Good luck!

Congratulations! I have alot of respect for anyone trying to make a profit on a bait and tackle store. I fish the Kalama River alot so I'll do my best to help you out.

Here's few things to have on hand that could make your place a success:

fresh bait
hot coffee
good (timely) information
advice on what's hitting and where
drop-off service for drift boaters
a bragin' fish bulletin board
knowledge of the river and the fish(that'll come with time)

Personal opinion - it probably wouldn't hurt to establish a cooperative relationship with Pritchard's. They're a good outfit too. Everyone wins when cooperation results in better fishing for the anglers.

Best of luck!

Right on with the new ownership! If you really want your store to do well than I'll second the idea of fresh coffee, bait and shuttle service but don't forget the most important......make sure that you stock Vision Hooks and Tackle tested and proven on the Kalama. E-mail me at visionhooks@hotmail.com for ordering information.

Thank you, good luck and good fishing!

Justin
