I'm getting a new jet boat in a couple of weeks and I'm looking at all the different depth finders available. I'm only going to be river fishing but I'm wondering if I should spend the extra money and get one that also has side view. Does any body out there use depth finders to find fish in the river?? I've got a depth sounder on my boat now but only use it to see how deep it is, (actually that's about all it's good for). I'm overwhelmed by all the choices and there seems to be quite the difference in prices. Any feedback or help would be nice and very much appreciated.

i have a X-85 lowrance and it works great, i dont care for all that side findin jazz, i`m out to fish and not sit in front of my depth finder all day. 399.00 at the outdoor emporium.
