Fished Pt. Defiance with my friend and his Son on Friday from 5:00 AM til about 1:00. Had one fish on about an hour and a half after the morning tide change out in front of the boathouse that we lost and one other hit a short time later that didn't stick. Overall it was a pretty slow day, saw 3 fish landed and the fish checker had only recorded 3 fish when we got back in. Trolled flashers and just about every color hooch I had in the box, bucktail flies, and some Coyote spoons to boot. Had to keep checking the gear often as the jelly fish were thick!!! Talking with some of the other folks on the water the fishing had slowed down from the week before. Just have to get em' next time!!!

Here's a follow up report for Wednesday night. Fished about 7 miles north of PD in Colvos passage.

Had 3 takedowns, all Kings. Lost the real big one but got a couple of decent ones to complete the limit.

Picked up a 15 and a 17 pounder on a chrome solo coyote at depth of 45 feet in 75-90 feet of water. Hooked the monster on a Grandslam with a 42" leader at a depth of 40 feet in 125 feet of water.

3 fish in 3 hours. Not too bad! After sunset, I did see a couple of nice ones roll right on top and the bait was breaking water in little spurts like they were being chased!

I think they're starting to show now. Should be down your way any time.

Thanks for the report!!! Sounds like ya had a good evening!!! To bad about the big un'. I know you, there will be more. I'm pretty tied up for the next week and a half, then we are going to Buoy 10 for a week, Let's get together when I get back and chase some fish. I send ya an e mail and set it up. Sounds great. Should be sizzlin' about that time. Seems to me you got a 30 pounder about that time last year over at Dalco, remember?

Wish I was doing the Buoy 10 festival, but I have to go camping. But it's down on the Key penisula, so maybe a run over to Lyle point is in the cards!
