Coyotes shouldn't scare you. They don't eat much. smile Besides, it was running from you, not at you.

I have taken about 5 coyotes while "fishing". First one ever was at Rocky Ford when this lady with a springer came down to check out the action. She was in heat eek, the springer that is, and a coyote came charging out of the bushes on the far side and started barking, yipping, and making all sorts of noise. The lady was concerned for her pup, and two shots later, she wasn't. Make the most of the opportunity.

Fished Elliot Bay on Saturday. Caught 1 8# Chinook, 1 3# Silver, and lost another fish. Saw a really nice 25# King. When we were checked at hte ramp, the fish checker told me that there were 2 Kings come in the were in the mid 20's. Alot of boats out there! I'm kinda new to this salt water fishing. Nice taking a break from the rivers. laugh

That one didn't come from here. Most of the ones out here are pretty nasty looking and thin.

See the "Elliot Bay" post. Got one nice hatchery hen Saturday in the bay. Hey Craig, was that you in the boat with the funky canvas that we showed the fish to?

Spent Sunday bank fishing/drinking for steelies with no luck.

Bruce, I looked at the picture on the Elliot Bay post. Is that the fish you caught Saturday? Also, sorry about bothering you and making you miss that fish while you were pulling the fish out of the cooler. frown What were you using if you don't mind me asking?
Craig laugh

Fished Lake Superior on Saturday/Sunday in Salmon Derby. 6 to 7 foot swells, with 2 foot waves on top of them. 7 lakers and one small king. We ended up with 8 of the 25 fish registered fo rthe weekend. Real nasty fishing, and crappy water temps. Made for an interesting weekend in a 17' 9" Lund Tyee. One boat sunk in 140 feet of water off the Beaver river. 50 degree water temps made for interesting swimming for a couple of guys. Luckily, they didn't drown.

Hey, no offense intended about the canvas. The only saltwater boats I fish out of are other peoples' so I got no room to poke fun. wink

I don't remember missing a takedown. Wouldn't be the first time though. No worries.

We had our best action on a yellow hoochie with a little piece of herring behind a white flasher around 75'deep. And yes, we got that fish Saturday morning.

Good luck this weekend. I'm headed to Mississippi for some family obligations.

Lake Roosevelt(a river runs through it):
Small walleyes, small trout, smallmouth bass, and no mercury sighted. Relatives report the mouth of the Okanogan River has been hot for upriver "darks".
