Fished Johnson Creek for about two hours today from the bank. Fish were rolling every where! Funny thing was that I couldn't hook anything. I tried drifting sandshrimp, no luck. I threw a cerise homemade spinner, a rainbow flash glo, and a homemade fire tiger spinner. I also tossed a michael jackson wiggle wart, a cerise tad polly, and a black and white tadpolly. Finally I just gave up and left for home. What would be the secret lure or color to do the trick?

Maybe try a jig like somebody suggested over in the "Getting freshwater silvers to bite" thread?

Matt,

Johnson creek is a slow moving flat. I would recommend drift fishing it if it were a little bit higher although at 1500 cfs your best bet would be a bobber and eggs. Fish them about 6" off bottom. Don't forget to yell "BOBBER DOWN"...

Try using a 1/4 oz. orange and yellow marabou jig. Read my post on "Getting freshwater silvers to bite" thread, like Krome Brite suggested. A friend of mind was fishing jigs there last week, and got fish to eat his jig.
Remenber, you will foul hook a few fish, but you can release them and keep the biters.
