Just wondering how the archery opener went this weekend, my wife and I are expecting a baby any day now, so I won't be able to get out till the later season, sure hate missing the early elk hunt, oh well, just curious how the opener went, thanks.

I went out opening weekend to kinda scout a new area a friend of mine had been to before and we took a 2x2 buck, and my other pal got a spike bull. There were a ton of deer around but we saw very few bucks. A few of my friends are over in Eastern Oregon right now and they said the bulls are going great! A buddy from Wisconsin missed a nice 5x5 the first day he was there! (He killed a 5x5 Roosevelt on opening day last year!) Stuff just commits suicide for this guy! Anyway, sounds like things might be good this year. My trip is the last 10 days so i will let you know what happens then!

Damn, sure hate to hear about those E. Oregon elk, up until 9 mon. ago I had a trip planned for right now over near John Day, 2 years ago did real well over there. Looking forward to next Sept. Think I'll be a little more careful in Dec/Jan.
