I have recently undergone minor knee surgery that has left me rather immobile and I was wondering if any one knew of any good river access that would not require much walking but offer fairly good fishing. Any information would be very helpful and much appreciated

About 10 years ago I fished the Deschutes river (WA) down by the old Oly brewery for kings. It was pretty much an egg and bobber show. You can also fish right below the I-5 bridge, or down by the railroad tressle at Marathon park if you can get there.

The heavy rains of a few years ago changed the main channel by the old brewery, so I am not sure where the best spot to fish down there is anymore, but all of these spots have benches nearby to rest on.

Try the Nisqually River just below the Mounts Road Bridge you can drive right to the river edge on the lower gravel bar. Just look for the rigs parked on the lower bar. By Wednesday you should find plenty of parking as the Natives will not be using the bar for boat and truck parking. rolleyes Several fish have been taken and more are in the river just waiting. wink

I was also going to mention the Nisqually. Just above the mounts road bridge there is a huge cement platform with a railing and rod holders for plunking. If you take the Mounts rd exit off of I-5, follow mounts rd until you cross the river. After you cross the river take the next left. Follow that rd (don't know the name of it) it runs right into the parking area next to the river. You can park and fish right in front of your vehicle. laugh
