Has anyone heard or seen action at the mouths of the white salmon, klickitat or deschute rivers? I'd heard in the past that a lot of salmon stack at the mouths of the white salmon, klickitat and deschutes rivers to "cool off" from the warmer columbia. I've also heard there can be a great bite with the egg fishery. Can anyone confirm this??

Don't know much about the Klickitat or Deschutes, the White Salmon is a fairly good bet, though in my opinion. If you're fishing from the bank that is. Don't know much about the boat fishery, other than the fact that some boats snag fish with Crippled Herring lures. mad

By the way Keith, there's a guy over at ifish that claims to know you and Perfect Drift (James). Thought you might be interested.

Here's the link straight to the post. The guy's post is down near the bottom. His moniker is "Plunker".

Stupid internet was down for the last few days so I haven't been on the board. Just hit the White Salmon and seen hundreds of fish roll. Most are dark, although there are some bright ones. Never got any bites myself, but a couple guys got a few hits and one guy got a B-Run Steelie. We fished on the bench. Some boats came out later in the day and jigged with Nordics or Crippled and I'm pleased to say they weren't snaggers. They raised the rod tip up 6 inches and then let it fall and repeated. They never got any fish either, though.

By the way Keith, that Plunker guy asked you some more questions on ifish. wink

The mouth of the big white still appears to have plentiful fish rolling. UP river the steelhead fishing has slacked off but the river is just loaded with kings.
