The database is down for repairs until 4pm on the 11th... there's a popup window on their web site that won't "pop up" if you've bookmarked the page and go directly to it... here's what the popup says:

-------------------------
Web Server Outage October 9-11th
The National Water Information System (NWIS) database and NWIS Web server is scheduled to be down from October 9th at 10:00 am to the 11th at about 4:00 pm. We will be updating the NWIS databases and software packages.

Some of USGS real-time data is available from other Federal government agency Web sites, such as the

Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle,
Bureau of Reclamation,
National Weather Service.

Please send us e-mail if you have any questions.

We thank you for your time and support.
--------------

Here's a link to an alternate web site, hopefully it has the river you want: http://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/data/streamflow/nwrfc/ww.html

Man, its going to go online 4 hours after I want to leave for the coast, looks like I will be sitting tight to see whats going on. Whatever i see probably won't matter anyway if Fridays forcast for Heavy rains around forks is true. That will be enough to blow a few rivers combined with the rain of today and tommarow.

Leave for the coast and check the levels at the library in PA or something... it only rained 0.05" here in Sequim today, not sure how much rain they got out in Forks. Email "Bruce G" here on the forum and ask him, or call Jim Leons the guide out in Forks, his number was on the home page of this site...

If all else fails, if I were you, I'd fish the lower Elwha (near the rock) from the bank tomorrow afternoon, the nets have been out since last Saturday, I think, so there could be a few bright ones in there...

Right now the rivers are still at low levels. The Duc is minus boards and the Bogy picked up a little color but not much level. The Hoh is probably fishable but who knows how much rain we'll get today and tonight. They Duc still needs alot of rain to get it up to driftable levels for driftboats. Have to watch it guys...

I was just wondering the same thing about what was up with the gauges. Got mine bookmarked so I didn't get the popup. Here we go into the usual pattern of blown rivers on the weekends with purty greenwater during the week. What's a working city stiff to do?

And StorminN, if you were thinking of me being the one to email about coastal conditions I think you got me confused with somebody else. I'm here in the big city. But if anyone needs info on the creek running through the Mt. Baker neighborhood into Lake WA or the levels of the ship canal in Fremont I can keep you updated. wink

Later,
Bruce
