Loc: A coastal river with fish
I was talking to a fish cop yesterday on the hump, he was telling me that he gave out 43 tickets on the hump last weekend, mostly for retaining kings, this river is closed to kings, also barbed hooks, and especially snaging, he also said he was paying special attenion to guides targeting kings, I dont know why, I thought you could catch and release, he said you can if your boat is not already limited, they also have 3 boats floating this river on weekens so watch out, He also said there going really watch the hump and satsop this fall, and the nooch thiswinter and spring so watch over your sholder there not in uniforms, they also have county mounties, and staties watching the launches and take outs, just thought you might want to be informed. eek eek eek

Nothing to look over your shoulder about as long as you follow the rules. Don't see a problem with the state enforcing the reg's....do see a problem for those ignoring them.

No not at all. Just good to know so when I break off a nice fish and have to retie I don't make so much as a single cast without pinchin' my barb. Anyways my fishing buddies are the same guys you fish with. Actually your right we bonk a truckload of fish and they are all snagged in the back. We just took the eggs, come on man who do you think I am. Plus the fish BITE too well in there too ever think about doing something so low. laugh

Good to hear. Wish they would make that kind of an effort on all rivers. Ive seen way too many people keeping snagged silvers on the Sno.

Too many desperate fisherman(snag boys) out there who need a fatty ticket.

BK, I figured as much. I just have a hard time not taking advantage of 'setups' to tease. wink When I fished with Joe early last week I had to be reminded to smash down the barbs.

Which reminds me, in turn I had to remind Joe that gillnets aren't supposed to be stretched all the way across the river; only just over half way. laugh laugh jk

Maybe I'm crazy, but I would like to see those patrollers at the launches politely reviewing with the boaters the rules in the AM before they start fishing. This might prevent sincere mistakes and if they get caught someone for doing something wrong there are no excuses!!!!Double the fine!!!

Rt just hit the wrong ones, Im glad there doing this finally, Ive seen a lot of illegal fish takin out of these rivers, its about time they do something about it. The kings in these tribs, are making a come back , now if we can get the nets out of grays harbor for a few years, there will be tons of fish, like when I was a kid, they still have a net across the hump at burrows road when there in, this is BS. Thank you judge Bolt. just my 2 cents, good luck fishn

It's about time Grays Harbor streams got some enforcement!!!!!! Sick and tired of seeing native steelhead gettin the old wood shampoo, by folks that think they have more rights to these rivers than the next guy!
