Anybody have a recent report on how the Sky is looking and how the fishing has been? Thanks.

What ya fishin' for, salmon, steelhead?
The river had dropped and cleared quite a bit by Wednesday. The weekend was just perfect. I hope it rains and gets some color back before Saturday. I was thinking of going up to the Vedder, but as hot as the Sky has been the last two times I've been, I might just stay local. smile

I was hoping to bump into a few silvers, but as you can tell by the name, steelhead is the game. Just wanted to try to find out what the river was like before I drove up there from Ft Lewis Sat AM. I was thinking about the drift from Sultan down to Ben Howard. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated. Is there anyone who runs a shuttle service up there? Beats driving two trucks. Thanks again.

you may want to keep a close eye on clarity and level before you come up, its been rainin hard and steady all night, the hydrograph is almost verticle at 3,000, it was 1890 last night.

The Kid is right, it is toast! Rose 3 feet and yesterday afternoon at the confluence, it looked like chocolate milk, logs and sticks and brush oh my! If you can believe it, the Snoqualmie was in better shape than the Sky! Sounds like a honey-do day for me. Take care all

It must have cleared quick. A partner and me fished yesterday. The river looked good until about 1pm then puked. The Wallace was all blown and the Sky was coming up quick. We fished at Buck Island and I managed too pull a 19" jack coho. Missed a couple of others. My partner did get smoke checked by a chum at the trestle though. Bring on those puppies.

Fished Benhoward to Monroe in the PM. River had great color, was running a little faster than norm. Picked up several nice silvers at the Hershey hole, backbouncing eggs. We had the river to ourselves by 4:00pm. I couldn't have asked for better conditions. Good weather good river great fishing!

The Chum must be around the next turn in the river coming up. I can't wait to hook up with them this year as my kid is into the chum fighting. Now if she will just let me reel one in. laugh laugh laugh

I don't know what the deal is with the goobers at the Sultan launch, but you're right, they don't know anything about getting out of the way of boats or trucks. I almost ran one too.
Hey centerpin, what's with the name you've got for yourself? I was fishing above Sultan on Sat. AM , probably the same place you were, but I didn't see anyone using a centerpin reel.

We all know what Forest Gump said about that type of behavior. "Stupid is as...." Maybe a warning sign should be posted... like..."Boat Ramp"---Duh? And that's all I got to say about that.

I noticed the same thing too...totally oblivious to a trailer being backed within inches of their legs. rolleyes

Maybe you should point a out the tire marked smashed dead humpies on the bank you explain to them what a boat, trailer and truck can do.

Goobers? you mean Snaggers don't ya' those witless knotheads that do their snagging across from the launch area are really a sad lot too!
We must have had quite an influx of foreign types lately, is all I can figure out.I can't believe how many sorry pinks I've seen them with. Even worse they are teaching their kids to be snaggers too!
I've talked with several of them over the past month and I'm sure that most don't have a license or clue as to the regulations, nor do they give a rip. The whole area around Sultan is starting to remind me of the Vedder. if you've been there you know what I'm talking about.
Thank God there are places they don't go to snag, and that's anywhere farther than a 5 minute walk from the highway or parking lots.Ok I'm through with my rant, now!

Yeah, the boat launch maggots. Wish the warden would make a few trips during the pink and silver runs. Ive also seen alot of "dads" teaching there kids that its alright to keep a snagged fish. =(

Never understood why guys stand at the launch and fish, the drift from the other side of the river is so much better and there in enough bank for everyone.

Just thought that I'd add something that I saw that made me continue with my belief that things never cease to amaze me.

I saw a snagger pull a pink in half dead, up onto the shore and start punching the hell out of it. He must have punched the thing ten times in the head? Made me want to go and kick the moron in the head and send him floating down the river. Dude not only has no idea of how to "catch" a fish but also now idea of how to handle it when caught!!!

What is going on out there? These people had to learn that this behavior was acceptable somewhere. Were there that many idiots training their offspring these techniques in the past generation? I am 31, have fished my whole life and have NEVER seen the crap I have seen going on in the last two months anywhere or anytime. All I know is if my ol man ever saw me doing anything like what I have seen going on I am sure that my back side would still be cringing at the thought.

I guess the best we can do know is teach our children the right things to do and use the idiots out there as examples of the WRONG thing to do. Should be pretty easy to find those examples!!

Things that make you go HMN. confused
