Catcher1 made a good point, since there are some beauties being posted on the brightest fish thread, I'm sure there's some pics out there of some real ugly buggers that we could get a laugh at!

Sheesh I caught an ugly silver this weekend--though it was the brightest fish of the day it was covered with what looked like small blisters or pimples all along its sides. Silver blight?

Parker, you know you could finally win a contest - easily in fact. You just have to get the nads to show that pic of the rotten salmon that you pasted my head onto; but with the real head of the 'brave' guy that picked it up. No prob, you won't be banished from the board - right? wink

So this has been up for awhile and nobody has the courage to post some of their ugly fish pics? I'll start it off for ya Keith, but maybe we'll have to wait for guys to post pics of boots they took of their buddies? laugh

Here is an ugly scene from the far north. I had just parked my driftboat and a hungry big King chases a fresh sockeye right onto the bank to eat it. My partner kept that uuugly big feesh. rolleyes

Here is an ugly fish (digitally enhanced for true color).

here's some boot shots.
Nasty Nasty Coho

The boot of all boots, A chinook that actually found a way to munch my eggs while steelhead fishing.
I can't believe my buddy actually tailed it for me.

And finally a Chummer, I wish I had my camera with me yesterday when I actually hooked some chromers, however pics of Canadian boots will have to do. this one provided by Jon

Geez James, it looks like you set the hook so hard on that 'snake' that you extended it's lower
jaw. Nass feesh though.

And Parker, you're busted. Notice the focus differential between my graphed on face
and the hand of the mystery carcass bandit.
And nice touch with the mystery man's ear
and part of his chin showing thru ... not. wink

I think this was the pic you robbed my mug from:

TH Jr., that looks like a nice TH Custom rod in the picture. smile
But your dad Travis' fish isn't ugly. This is the ugly fish thread. wink

Here's a pic of the Kid and Fly with a 'snake' that knocked the Thor boat on it's side.

that was actually a pretty big fish (17# or so) for down here on the SC..

Well I tell dad (Tom) that his boot was too fresh for the board.

I also would like to thank Parker for a quick lesson in how to post pics on the board.
THANKS Parker...
and the rest of you please hang in there w/ me as I learn to resize the pics.

Okay ... I've got some ugly ones too. Had to look pretty hard to find many ... guess I'm smart enough not to pose with too many ugly ones!

How 'bout an old kinger bounced up on the Kasilof while silver fishing:

Or another one:

While not techically a salmonid, we were fishing for them, so this sculpin must count for something smile

A true beast of a fish from the Quillayute ... covered in lice and less than a mile from the salt, but as booty as they get and really big too ... weighed in the net as 46 lbs. before Fishgal sent it on it's way:

The TH custom rods are outstanding. I love
mine in the TH1164 for combo chinook/steelie
fishing.

Keith, I like a couple of those pics of you above. It looks like you got kind of
'excited' holding onto that tiller handle, wearing your shorts. laugh And the one
in the striped shirt and fox hunting hat while holding that boot steelie is a sure
candidate for the cover of STS. smile Well, maybe Fishing & Hunting News.

Bob, that metalic pink black nosed 'poly has always been a good one,
but I've never caught a bullhead on one. Congrats.
wink

Bob, I went rumaging thru boxes of old pics too.
But I couldn't find anymore boot fish pics.
However, I did find a pic of the ugliest attire
I've ever seen worn on a gin clear coastal river.
This is my wife, still in our first year of marriage, wearing a fish spooking orange wind
breaker over a lifejacket. It was for winter
steelhead and colder and windier than it looks
in the pic. That was my first driftboat there.

Although Bob practices catch and release fishing, sometimes he should bonk a fish, just to keep it out of the gene pool as in this case. wink

Geez Troy (Spooled), I was going to go easy on ya tomorrow but not now. wink
Hey, does that look like the head of a spawner? Well maybe, but not spawned out. laugh

Somehow looking at that pic makes me feel for the salmon a little. Kinda helps put me
in their skin, so-to-speak. They have no arms or legs to fight back with. Oh well;
they are a large swimming muscle with a pea brain. And they have no shoes for us
to walk a mile in. So let's get after 'em. smile
