Hey guys...

Fished this week and had lots of fish rolling everywhere around me, but only 4 grabs the hole day with only one in the boat!
What do you pros do to find the right attractor when you start fishing an area? I would like to set up a routine when I go into an area so I will have some effective fishing.

Appreciate the help I get on this site.

Steve

Fishing the river... Salt I do pretty good. Fresh and the different offerings I'm not that boned up on.

Let me give you a scenario... Best conditions for fishing the Sat or Cow within the next two weeks.

Thanks... Steve

If you haven't done a lot of river fishing try using a float for eggs or jigs. Use the search feature to find good posts/threads on egg cures; same for jigs. Set your float depth to have your bait or lure within about a foot off bottom in the moderate water. Let the bait barely drag bottom in the faster water. Try soaking your cured eggs in marichino cherry juice for a half hour the night before going fishing. Even try fishing the cherry (seriously). Use pink and white 1/4 oz. jigs, or cerise and black color combo. The bead body versions work well too, and can be tipped with a piece of shrimp tail. In addition to the Vibrax spinners TM mentioned, if you have a boat or can position above the holding/rolling fish, slowly backtroll a Wiggle Wart or Tadpoly down into the fish. Make sure the hooks are super sharp, and add a very small amount of scent, such as Pro Cure shrimp oil. If the water is a little colored try the flame red with black stripes (Fire Tiger), and when clearish try the chrome plugs with small amounts of other productive color patterns on them. Those are just some basics that should catch some fish. Good luck.
