Spent all day working on my sled getting it ready to put in the boattrader. Had dinner and was listening to the radio. I had heard of krispy kremes but never had a chance to have one when Ii was back east. I haad heard about one opening in Issaquah and heard abouut the 1-3 hour waits for donuts. Well, my girlfriend heard this commercial tonight and asked "You mean they have a krispy kreme here?". Well, she's fromm Georgia and she hasn't had one since she's moved up here. She told me how good they were and convinced me to head up there. Ii told heere about the lines, so we decided to go up later tonight so liines wouuldn't be so long. Pulled into the lot at 850pm to a liine of cars. We filtered right in andmoved right neear the front of the line (or so Ii thought). As we stopped, Ii noticed that the "'parking lot of cars" around my line was FULL of people. No, I wasn't in the drivethrough liine. I was in the drive through LIINES!!!!!!!! They stacked and packed the liines. Then systematically leet a liine go at a time. After figuring thiis ouut Ii was stuck. No way to get out. I had to wait almost 2 1/2 HOURS to get some freakin donuts. How were they you may ask. I quote Homer Simpson (or was that RT???) when they say "Hmmmmmmm, donuts." They were damned good. Almost worth the wait.

So, if any of you plan to get some, do yourself a favoor. Bring ssomething to doo. Tiee up some leaders, jigs, or fliis. Bring a novel (may I suggest War and Ppeace????). Find ssomething to keep you buusy, you'll be waiting awhile. Talkked with a state trooper who's been workinng the drivethrough. He said the only slow timme was between 3am and 6am (only about an hour waiit at that time) My god, don't ask to get fresh krispy kreme donuts before a fishiing trip. You'll haave to leave the night before trip so you'll have donuts just in time to put boat in. SHEESH!!!!!!

They are good, even a couple of days old, in the microwave. My Aunt picked some up and delivered them to my mom here in Poulsbo on her way to a meeting. Mom saved us each a donut.

LOL. Yeah, I wish it was drinking why I double hit letters. I have a new wireless keyboard and it is very sensitive. I type bout 120 wpm and harder then hell for me to slow down and type with slow sharp keypunches.

No Jelly for this kid. The varieties aren't bad but the original are goooooooooooood. Fresh and hot they melt in your mouth. RT they're up in Issaquah. I heard a rumour they're building one in Federal Way near me. Lord have mercy. They're damned good but at$5.99 a dozen they get pricey. Ii'll have to pickup a few dozen when we start having more floatillas.. I'll be designated donut guy. Heck, I'll do one better. Ii'll outfit my rear passenger area in my caat to hold a hotbox to house a few dozen krispy kremes and load up my cooler seat with ice and beverages and be the "on wateer" refreshment stand.

Hey Hootchie, it will be a good while before I can travel a long ways; until my broken tailbone heals up. But you can pretty well sign me up for a Krispy Kreme 'donut drift' for an exchange trip in my sled on the Cow or Lewis down the line sometime. Cool!

Oh, Gawd, we went to Issaquah today and saw for ourselves the State Patrol and the ugliest parking lot scene imagineable at Krispy Kreme.

But ya know RT, I'll do the time in the line for a ride in your sled. And these donuts you don't hafta sit on!

Chaser: Sounds like your boss got a bad batch. My girlfriend brought some home the other night. They were still warm and melted in your mouth. The next day I brought some into work, and everyone loved them. Go figure.

If you guys ever get together for that Flotilla 3 (or 4) I will bring you some. I work right near there, I can look down and see the lines of cars and people wrapped around the building. Its finally started to calm down. All the cars actually fit in the drive through line this morning at 6:am for the first time since it opened. Right now as I look out the window, I estimate the foot trafic line at about 2 hours. I can't see the drive through line all that well, but its full as much as I can see.

Anybody know a good rain dance? Preferably one that brings real strong winds with it. I guess I am just being cruel, but I would really like to see a big storm come through, the kind that blows the umbrellas inside out, just test their resolve. Will they really tolerate getting soaked to the bone for their donuts?

The verdict, the best donut I have tasted, but its still just a donut. Not worth the time spent in line. I didn't wait in line for mine. I just took advantage of a poor sucker, oops, uh, exceptionally kind co-worker who stood in line for 3 hours the morning it opened.

Is that calendar for real? I'd like to get my hands on one of those... calendars. Far as that goes, I'd like to get my hands on a Krispy Kreme doughnut. They said on the radio that Issaquah Krispy Kreme set a one week sales record for all of their franchises. They did over $450K the first week they were open. The lines must be getting somewhat shorter; a friend went this week and only waited a half hour for a doughnut. Maybe, when things settle down, we should hold Dunktilla I there. Pick a day when plunkers and dunkers, sledders and slurpers could all assemble peaceably and eat doughnuts. Nah, it would never work

My boss lives up there and brought me a dozen this last week. In June we brought back two dozen for the folks at work when came back from Las Vegas. Good doughnuts. Andy
