I got the wife out "fishing" with me tonight. We headed down to Westport for some razor clams. She was kind enough to hold the light while I dug. It took us about 15 minutes to find a nice group of clams, and had our limits in about 20 minutes more. The wind was minimal, and the ocean was calm. Made for a nice outing. I hope you other clammers did well.

Andy

P.S. I am still jealous of the pictures that Kid Sauk posted of the clams he got up in AK. Nothing quite that size, but still some good eatin' clams.

Clamorama part 2:

Headed down to Grayland with the neighbors, the wife and oldest son. 6 big buckets o' clams in 45 minutes. There were a few small guys, but once you found the beds, it was a slaughter. I gotta say my shovel technique has improved greatly in the last two evenings. I even left the clam guns at home.

If you haven't gone before, but would like info on wher to dig, let me know. It isn't rocket science.

Clamoramma... Isnt that a sexually transmited disease??? eek

We dug out at ocean shores with the masses this weekend and had a great time. I forgot to pack rubber boots for my wife. She was holding the lantern for me and everytime a wave would crach my light would go running up the beach. Kinda hard to find clams when you're chasing the light all over the beach.

Wont forget those boots the next time. wink

Hey now, don't be giving The Kid credit where credit isn't due. It's almost always Parker. wink

The best part was that these apparently were the SMALL clams! We totally got dissed by the Clam Cleaning Lady! She also had some shells laying around that were easily twice the size of these! I'm talking true Monster Razor Clams. Probably could reach up a take off a leg, if they wanted too!

Oh well, not bad for a bunch of clueless Southern Boyz! 90 clams in about 20 minutes. Thanks again Bob and Corey! Above and beyond the call of duty!

PS - for those who haven't tried it yet, that recipe that Bob provides is sure darn tasty!

Parker

We were done both nights before the low tide time, AND we didn't have to get near the surf. The closest we were was about 20 feet above where the waves were washing.

Now, is it just me, or are those clams small?
