The water was soooo perfect today on the Sky above Goldbar. A beautiful green with 2ft of visability. Worked all morning, 3 hours, with jigs but never touched a fish! Finally switched to my drift gear, small red corky and orange yarn, 14" leader. That did it! hit first one about cast 7, it came un-buttoned though. Next one was beautiful 10# summer buck, he had that bright red line and gill plate color. Jumped three times and finally came to net. By the way thanks to the guy who netted it for me, didn't get your name, but thanks! This one is going into the smoker for snacks this Thanksgiving.
There were a good mix of summers and fresh winters caught up there today, and yes some were caught on jigs too. Don't think it's going to be so good tomorrow though with the storm coming in tonight.

Went there for 1/2 day. CNRed 4 chums and LLRed 2. No steely yet. Some of the chums look sad already. A lot of people for middle of the week! Try it if you can, water looks good.

Me and a partner fished around Lewis St today plunking. We were both hoping for chums. No chums but my partner hit a 4# coho, I hit a 6# coho and a 10# winter brat. Where is this good dog run WDFW talked about? The Sno/Sky should be loaded with fairly bright dogs but nada. Anyone have any ideas?

Tight lines one and all.

Hey Chumcatcher,
I think the chum are blastin' through the lower sections of the Sky because I know they are in pretty heavy around Sultan and also in the Wallace. I was on the Wallace for a few hours last Sunday and they were all over the place. If it's chum you want I'd say get up around Sultan as soon as the river drops again, you'll get into them there. cool

Hooked and landed a nice 8# winter run Sunday from the white water at Reiter. After all you need to challange yourself once in a while. Chumcatcher, those fish your looking for are a later run that spawn in that area. Another week or so and a few good rains and they'll be there.
