Well the article consists of your more common plugs ie. tadpolly's, wigglewarts, hotshots, bagleys, kwikfish, flatfish, etc.

But it doesn't say anything about my favorite steelhead plug, the thinfin Hot'n tot, you know the one that's just a size smaller than your normal hot'n tot bait diver. Don't any of you northern washington, or oregon boys use these? If not then why?

I'd much rather use these than any other plugs as they are not to irradic in motion and run true as ever when tuned right.

That's supposed to be a secret Keith. Not now - hehe. jk, plenty of guys know about it. That small version doesn't have quite as good of action as some plugs, but it has a narrow baitfish type body shape and dives so well that it produces fine. The bigger ones also catch big 'nooks, but still aren't as productive for them as Kwikies and Mag Warts are, IMO. One thing I used to do is put a single siwash on the belly of the HnT bait divers with a medium sized barrel swivel and split rings, after taking the 2 stock hooks off, and tie a rubber band around the hookshank and bait leader so they wouldn't tangle. This was to hook the few fish that would hit the HnT instead of the bait. But most of the fish hit the bait. Still worth that effort at times; especially murky big rivers like the Kenai (when legal).

Years ago lazy ike corp.Iowa, made 2 and 3 inch thin bodied diving plugs in a huge array of colors, when properly tuned they were effective on anything that swims. Copies are available in catalogs, but it's not the original company. I still have some I use sparingly in clear water conditions. It might pay to try one of the copies, sand off color and paint to preference.

Bob b,
I have many of the originals and some of the newer ones. My favorite thing to do is to repaint and customize my plugs, it makes you feel even better when you have the only one of a specific customized color that just kills em.
