Even the now comtempo terminology seems to have cheapened the sport of steelhead fishing. I never view a steelhead as a boot. Tackle, boots and rain slickers notwithstanding, the sport of steelhead fishing would begin to regain some of its lost dignity if those involved in the sport would think of it as something other than and exercise in penile enhancement. I've met some very nice steelheaders wearing yellow slickers and hip boots from the surplus store. Conversely I've encountered some real anal openings decked out in fancy waders and Gore-Tex parkas. You can't judge a book by its cover, although I'm becoming more convinced every day that a lot of people do.

WOoooooo Les,

Nobody told me about the penile enlargement part. After all these years and all those fish, when the ice is forming on my guides and my hands are 2 degrees from frostbite, how come when I gotta pee it still shrinks up so as I can hardly find it ? Are you sure that part works, what have I been dong wrong?

back to the point:

Sucker lip: The proper swear words when trying to release that nice fish and the damm hook just wont let go.

Fish Beak: a fishing buddy that casts right on top of your last cast just after you swing and come back with nothing.

egg shakes: What you have as you are putting another gob of eggs on you hook just after your bobber went under about 2 feet and you didn't touch the fish as you swung.

Todd, you been fishing with Ken lately? Sounds like you described him to a tee. Especially the buzzbomb one.. Oh and his new yellow rod, ask him about it, sure is cute wink

You can add this one.

How come everyone else is catching fish but me???

Galley *****? Where's that come into play? Most likely available on boats over 32 feet or whenever RT is along to spread mayo on bread while springer fishing! JK RT.
If I'd ever learn how to maintian an outboard I'd ask you back to the lower Col. for some springering. Is "SPringering" a legit term? Personally, can't wait to go Springering (not Jerry)again laugh

Drone: That's Kent on his rock at reiter 7 days a week.
LDR: Maybe already said but.......long distance release.
Groceries: Hatchery fish.
Sticks: Oars
Chumming: Generally what happens when you drank too much the night before you went fishing.
Indy 500: Sauk, Sky, Bogie, etc. anytime when the fishings good. The 1st ten boats race to the take-out and see who can make it there in the least amount of time, so concered with first water they forget to fish.
Shredded: What happens when you get you A@# kicked by a big steelie or salmon.
Fuzzy: That color faze in salmon we all love so much......you know, when they don't even have any slime left.
Flossing (verb): something about the type of panties RT wears fishing...

OFI - Old F_art Index, a strikingly accurate measure of the likelihood of fish being in the area. Working best on flat water, is a measure of the number and average age of fishermen. A 65-65 is about as good as it gets, 65% codgers with an average age of 65.
