Ok I fish mostly on the Cow anymore and have both drift boats and sled in all the year I have allways beleved that if your in a boat you have the whole river to fish. So if you are going to fish Blue Creek fish from the bank this Sat the sled were on the point today three sled tie togather to block 70ft. of the best part of the driftfor 5 guys. when one of them saw me they asked where my boat was I told them it was on it's trailer where his should be if you want to fish here I like to go back to my roots that is why I fish there at all.most that fish combat zones are new or can't afford boats let they have somewhere to fish and keep your butts out or they will just start tring to restick us there like they do at Bairrer Dam andI for one am all for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dudes anchoring up in that spot leads me to believe that you were dealing with beeks RR. Skip the logic as none exists with these toads.

I'm with you RR in knowing that all that prime water exists up and down that sucker! Have boat should travel for sure.

River Rat, thanks for spelling it out for us guys with an 8th grade education.

Grammar or no grammar, why buy a boat to sit in one spot (especially on that river)? Anchoring up there will get the "good ol boys" looking for their rope wink eek

So what's the word been on the Cow lately?

Sorry while you were in school I was fishing. The fish are there if you are willing to bank stomp until the river drops.

What RR is trying to say, and I saw again today, is why buy a 30K sled, launch it at the ramp at BC, and run 1/2 mile down the river and tie up next to the slide? Why not walk in? Four sleds tied up there when we floated thru this morning. Leave the bank fishing spots to the bankies...they can't access the whole river. You'd think that BC is the only hole in the river that holds steelhead...man, they don't teleport themselves there!

At 13,900 CFS and over Blue Creek is tough fishing for a bankie and I don't have a problem with boats coming in on the lower drift. By Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday the water was down to around 10,000 CFS which means a few boats are hogging the main bank fishing drift on the Cowlitz. That's when tensions run high and I have a problem with that. When the round the clock fishing starts it'll take care of it's self when there won't be a spot for the boats to horn in.

I also was there Sun. I coulndt believe the boats that were anchored up in there myself !!! I had my sled below because I believe if a bankie can get around you, you dont belong in there !!! Besides I drifted for 2 1/2 hours, hooked 7 and went home with our 4, and the "bank hoggers" were still there !! Come on guys, if dont dont have enough know how, go park your boat on the gravel bar, or at the top of the wall. With as maney fish that appeared to be there, no reason to all be in there. confused
