I know this is a fishing chat room but I need some help. I elk hunted in the Stampede unit this year and found very few elk and signs that someone was posting that said "the reason you are not seeing animals is because the indians have been rifle hunting them since September 1st." I e-mailed the F&G to see if this was true. Without telling me a simple yes or no, they just told me that they had no jurisdiction over them and to check with the tribe(s). What tribe? This is public land. Where can I find out when and where they can hunt.

your not the only one, i get real upset when i think of the situation that the indians are with the rest of us. this is to much of a buetiful and unique state for one small group of people to have such a negative impact. what im trying to say is like when i see a bunch of net boats launching at potlatch on a non net day with 40 buckets in the boat is that TRIBAL FISHERMAN SUCK

NOW YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE NOOKSACK HERD, & THE WHITE RIVER HERD, & THE GREEN RIVER WATERSHED HERD, ETC, ETC, ETC. MAKES YOU WANT TO F!@#$%GS*&T. THE STATE DOESN'T CARE BECAUSE THEY SELF REGULATE & HAVE SELF ENFORCEMENT. WHICH MEANS THEY DON'T DO JACK. FIND A NEW SPOT TO HUNT. ON THE BRIGHT SIDE I SAW 4 HUGE BULLS THIS YEAR BUT I WAS IN A SPIKE ONLY AREA. GOTTA GET DRAWN FOR ONE OF THOSE BULL TAGS.

I HAVE HUNTED BOTH THE WHITERIVER DRAINAGE AND THE GREENRIVER DRAIAGE FOR YEARS AND HAVE SEEN JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF.THE MUCKLESHOOT TRIBE HAS STOPPED HUNTING THE WHITERIVER DRAINAGE BUT SOME OF THE OTHER TROUBLE MAKERS ARE STILL POACHING!!!AS FOR THE GREENRIVER HERD THEY ARE BEING WIPED OUT BY THE LARGE NUMBER OF CATS AND BEARS IN THE WATERSHED THANKS IN PART TO THE GAME DEPT.THEY KEEP RELOCATING THE PROBLEM CATS TO THE WATER SHED.
