I went to the Lindy Little Joe site to stock up on Thill Premium Steelhead Floats, and the site says the floats are "unavailable." Anyone know what's up with these floats? Are they being discontinued? Sold out? Are there any retail stores that sell them?

I went there too, and thought the same thing. I fired off an email and Lindy's response is below.

"We are in the process of updating our site for the 2002 season and the Steelhead floats have not been added. We do not have them in a 2/pak as with the majority of our floats. They will be on a bulk basis.

Should you wish immediate delivery, please contact Priscilla at 218-829-1714 between the hours of 8:00-4:30 CDT and place your order by phone."

We've got them at Rainbow Jigs in 3 sizes, 7/8", 1" and the 1 1/8" size.

Just curious, what makes these Thill floats so good? I use sliding foam dink floats and don't see any reason to justify spending the extra dollars for a "prettier" float. If there's some other benefit to them, please explain.

The Thill Premium Steelheader Floats allow you to switch back and forth between float fishing and drift fishing. If you like fishing a fixed float set up, this is a nice way to go.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Jigman, I'm gonna place an order with Rainbow Jigs this afternoon. Does the 1 1/8" float balance well with a 1/4-ounce jig tipped with a piece of prawn meat , or should I just stick with the 1" size for this setup?

The 1 1/8th is the size to go with on the 1/4 oz jigs, though the 1" will work though it rides low in the water.
