I am look to purchase a quality pole and reel for fishing with a float & jigs this year. I had moderate success last year with standard gear.

Allstar Elite 1263. Its 10'6" rated for 6-10 lb line.
For a reel check out an Okuma Epix 30. Ive seen these reels and have herd a lot of good things about them. I personally use a Shimano Stradic 2000.

Check out the St. Croix rods also. They make a selection of 10 1/2 footers for different line weights that work well.....spinning rods. For a reel I would stick with Shimano.

whenever I hear "all star" rod, I get a mental picture of red, white and blue with stars...what do they really look like? Does anyone have a link?

I use a 10.5 foot Lamiglass rated 8 - 12 lb test with a Shimano Curado BSF. Awesome set up for the money.
