Tyler, if you would like to e-mail us, we have two different colored glow in the dark jigheads.
I have done well, in the early morning on the glow pink heads. it is possible to catch steelhead at night on jigs, but very hard to tell if your float has gone under, even if you have glow in the dark floats, it's hard to tell if it is still on top, floating, or actualy under the surface.

Cabelas have Fire-Light glow sticks that can be slipped onto a jig head, hook, spinner, or spoon. They 1" long and come in neon orange, red, pink, green, blue, and yellow. They last up to 8 hours.

I have only tried them one time so far and did not catch anything. They should work if the glow jigs work. They do not require using a flash to recharge them.

Tyler, while I'm not saying it's impossible but I have seen quite a few guys trying it over the years in the dead of night with 0 hookups.

We carry 4 different glow in the dark jigs...pink, red, green and orange glow. Thill has an excellent float for night fishing, the Nite Brite. It's real easy to see and you can tell when it goes under.

Tyler, I remember the phrase, but on the other hand I said other guys have thrown glowjigs to no avail.. Myself, I figured if it's not happening for the experimentors or innovators why beat a dead horse.

Lets do this, test your phrase in this manner if you dare. You get dialed in with your glow jig and float while I use my terminator glow ball drift rig. I'll even spot you 2 with the tie going to me. The 2 fish handicap might offset the fact that
glow jigging in the dead of night would leave you with a clear disadvantage. However, who knows maybe your competitive nature and age may prevail.

Tyler my apologies for earlier comments...your righteous. Think glo in the dark jigs for when the water is low vis. I've always had good luck using various glo corkiesdoubled up with nonglo corkies when the waters dirty. Take my jig advice with big grainof salt as truth tell I'm still a jig virgin.

Does anybody make glow in the dark lure paint? I have some ideas I'd like to try out. I am beginning to think the rest of the Steelhead season will be a waste if I don't find something new to try. This rain ain't gonna quite anytime soon, and then only for a day or two. Man this sucks.

Another alternative is to buy glow in the dark beads and drill them out so they will fit over the jig hook. Then you can make a beaded jig that will glow in the dark and you can use a sand shrimp tail or prawn meat tipped on the jig.

They make a glow in the dark nail pollish thats only $3 or $4. It goes on mostly clear but when the lights are turned off it glows pretty bright. I use it alot on lures that are already painted. it has very little to no effect when the water's clear but as soon as it turns murky it starts to glow. It's kind of interesting to play around with and is pretty easy to find (as long as you don't mind walking up to the cash register with nail pollish made for 13 year old girls).

Tyler - i've had good luch with yarn on my jigs. It may not be as pretty as the marabou - but it holds scent and gets caught in the teeth (harder to spit out...).

Concerning the glo-in-the-dark aspect along with the high murky water season we are having, try out the size 6 glo in the dark Spin N Glo. It appears as a chartreuse color underwater, but more visable in muddy water or at night. I also suggest painting half of it florescent orange. This gives it more contrast and shows it's action better. If you add an egg cluster to one of those and fish it close to shore on the seams or softer water you can catch fish in these nasty conditions. You just have to work harder to cover holding spots that are fewer and farther between.

Hey Duck, your post is quite the setup for a joke or two. But I'm slowly learning to bite my tonque a little bit before typing. wink

Aaah, the heck with it - I'm already white and if I ... nevermind.
