Just want to thanks the guys at first cast jigs for the gift for catching my first steelhead on a jig. I recieved 6 great looking jigs with really sharp hooks...boy are they sharp.

Yes thank you,,RT and Mark at first cast Jigs...I really appreciate the jigs and hope to get out and use them once the rivers are down,,,by the way mark just curious why the hackle is so short on some of the jigs...

I'm glad you like the jigs. The needle sharp hooks are Owner jig hooks. They'll stay sharp fish after fish too.

I used both saddle hackle and schlappen feathers on the jigs I sent you. I like to use feathers that don't go beyond the bend in the hook. I feel this helps the short biters that could miss a take on longer feathers.

Say Desertdog, were you up here for chums at Hood canal on the last day of Nov.? Seems that I met a gal trying after the chums and she was with a couple of friends and noticed the plates on the SUV were from Nevada. She had said she came a long ways for these fishes. confused

Have fun catching more fish on Mark's jigs guys. Lots of fun on the way when the rivers get clearish.

We still have a 3rd and 4th place to be won. That it hasn't happened yet shows 2 things; too much rain keeping the rivers too high, and the honesty of the participants - who have had plenty of time to be lame and cheat but nobody has. Cool!

I will bring the contest thread back to the top.
