I'm back on Whidbey Island from So Cal for a lil over a week. What w/the holidaze and all I probably won't get a chance to drive very far (Forks area)so could use some advice as to where to go. Understand that many rivers are high and muddy? If so I wuz thinkin that maybe I'd give the Lyre a try. Other options that would be available to me are the Samish, Cascade, Skagit, and Nooksack. One place that I could fish once or twice a day is the West side of Whidbey Island (Ft Casey and Bush Pt.) but the few reports I've heard are discouraging. Any help on these spots and, if yer feelin really generous, advice on tackle/techniques would be greatly appreciated too.

Happy Holidaze to all

Roger

I think most rivers that you mentioned will be fisable one time or another during the next week or so. It looks like we will be getting a break for a while next week so be ready! Forks may fish by Friday or even tomarrow depending on the rain last night and if ya want to fish the ponds up there. The Lyre is probably gonna clear fast as do many small streams. Id be looking by tomarrow and Friday if I was you. Theres gonna be so many fish any technique is gonna pound em if you present it right! Im gonna fish rags with eggs!

Thanx Bob! Appreciate the advice. I'll light some incense in yer honor and place it in my fishing god shrine! Don't know why the word gawdiss comes out as asteriks? Somethin to do w/a woman named gawdiss or somethin like that? Still haven't been able to get out but have managed to talk to a couple of people and I guess that there are lottsa fish in most all rivers. Also heard that the West side of Whidbey (Saltchuck) has really picked up the last few days. I haven't had real good luck catchin hatchery fish in the salt, seems like more wild fish travel where I cast than hatchery fish, and/or the wild fish bite (and usually fight) better.

Thanx again,
Roger
