Hi all, been looking at this site for a few months and finally had some time to sign up. I live in Satsop and at least get to look at the local rivers a lot - fishing time is harder to come by but I get some in now and then on the weekends and vacations. I usually fish the salmon runs pretty hard, South Sound for blackmouth, Cathlamet for springers, Buoy 10 for tons of silvers, and Grays Harbor for pig kings. Also fish steelhead with both bait and fly, keep a few, mostly release. I also fish kokes and lakers in the summer, and even scrounge up the odd sturgeon occasionally, actually got one today right near home after spending the rest of the weekend trying to find steelhead in the mud. I really like the tech tips on this board - always up to try something different, and I do have a few tricks up my sleeve myself that I have figured out after a half-century or so of fishing. Also like to hear what is going on elsewhere in the state river condition and fish-wise. Hope I can contribute myself.

Hi Gooose - I took a look over at the chatroom and noticed it was pretty busy. Looks like you live on one of my two favorite rivers - I try to fish the Dose and Duck at least once a year - a freind of mine has a cabin on the Canal around Beacon Point. Last year I actually caught and released a Duckabush native steelhead, all 3.58 pounds of him! Pretty rare occurance, though, it was 1985 the last time I remember those rivers being very productive. Still a real nice, quiet place to fish. The rivers around my place are decidedly not quiet

Hi Mike, I really enjoy your site. I have relatives that live on lake Cle Elum, and that is where I usually fish for Lakers, although Kachess was better for me this year. I used to fish Chelan when I was a kid - grandparents lived not far from there, haven't been back since they passed on but sure would like to give it a try again some day, and enjoy reading about it anyway. Kokes I fish for a bit closer to home most of the time, did exceptionally well this year but kind of hate to publicize it , selfish I know. I'll send in some reports of my ramblings this summer.
