So, everyone on here seems to have the same story. You all pack out your own trash and usually pack out other peoples to. I do the same. So who is it then that is leaving that stuff along our rivers?? Are people so ignorant that they don't realize they are ruining our resorces? It sure is dissapointing to go to a river and find garbage all up and down it!!!!!!!!!! how do we get the peope that are doing that to quit?

how about gut your fish out and leave the mess on the offenders windshield? that is if you can find out whos doing it.

What I have seen is a lot of people that smoke seem to throw the butts on the ground. When a person falls to that level then other trash leaving fallows. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE SEEN ,I know not all smokers do this. The bait containers and tackle packaging makes up 80% of the trash. I think the guilty could even be some of the guys you fish with that get in a rush when fishing and leave trash. Have you ever said don't leave that trash to someone you knew was leaving some. The response I've got was not good, these were down right fightin words.

This is just speculation based upon generalizations, but the kind of person who can figure out how to use a computer to the point that they know how to get to these forums, let alone actually POST to them, is also the kind of person who is refined enough to take their trash out with them.

So I would guess that you're preaching to the choir in here, unless we can figure out a way to reach the knuckle-draggers that leave their trash out in the field.

I'll tell you how, get into law enforcement, like I did, and spend your time in a place called Trotters Woods, on the north side of the Nisqually. Littering is probably my biggest pet peeve, so handing out a few tickets for littering is pretty redeeming. On top of getting the pot and meth heads out of there, that was a pretty good day.

I smoke and I do not leave them on the river!I also spend alot of time picking up after other people,when I go to spots that other people frequent!Nobody is going to admit it but you Know who you are ARE YOU PROUD!

i think that the trash problem starts with the kids. to many kids have the freedom to do what ever they want and alot of it involves partying no im not saying that i did not party as a kid but when i did we took garbage bages with us because we had respect. hey!!!!! what a novile idea teach kid not just are own. respect for the river. if we do mabe the trash problem will stop. becaue it seems to me that if it doesnt they just close the problem areas down for everybody.
