I would like to thank all the people, who provded their expertise regarding smaller rivers ability to handle large increases of anglers, and still retain their escapement goals of hatchery and wild fish. Since the state gave up on these paticular rivers, and the tribe took over the hatchery, and all responsability of providing a sport fishery, the massive amount of plants 25,000 winter steelhead, yearly, that go into these rivers provide everbody with a sense of security that no harm could be done,with a few more anglers out there. I mean a complete closure of any salmon fishing that is now in effect om these rivers even though these rivers maintain very good habitat protection and most of the spawning grounds are basicaly unreachable, and are in the best known habitat areas of our state should not cause any worries to some tourist fisherman. Waiting for a response from Evan Jacoby or Brenda Kane.Since I have worked with them on issues relating to overharvest of chinook and coho stocks on the green river watershed, due to mostly muckelshoot Fisheries practices, and the states non participaton in managing this fishery.I actualy *****ed so much i was given Go Ahead on a yearly basis to monitor the tribal gill net fishery aboard the enforcement boat with biologist Mike Mahavalich.First time an observer was allowed aboard for this fishery.
