They're finally up and running. At least on this site...

Here

Doesn't look too exciting yet though. Hopefully they'll perk right up in the next few weeks. smile

Last year our absolute best fishing was the last two weeks of March. At that time there were only a few hundred chinook a day going over the dam. I had a 34 and a 26, and saw other big fish. I wonder if there is a small run of very large springers into the Wind at that time. These were very bitey critters.

Water last year was alot warmer and lower. Spring salmon use water temp to dictate migration. This year will be spread out alot more because of high cold water. Last years run came all in a three week period, and this year will be a more even spread from march through may. those 27,000 fish day at the ladder wont happen this year.

There will still be a "Peak" in the run, and since there is a prediction of around 350,000 fish this year, no matter how its broken down there are a load of fish. I would be willing to bet, during the peak, you will see last years number matched, at least for a few days.
