WDFW opened Cowlitz to dipping smelt 6am to 10 pm 7 days a week 20lb limit. Last report yesterday lower river was loaded with mostly males. And Westport has a lot of herring being jigged around boat basin, Nice springer bait!!! Nets are in Columbia, And some Graysharbor rivers are hot. BATHTUB

My son wants to try the Lewis River for smelt and I have no clue where to take him.

RW I would go to Cowlitz its been better go down I-5 to first Kelso Exit. head to Longview across the bridge. Turn right on 104 i think this road follows the river to Lexington and a nice park and a safe place to dip. Look for cars and dippers have fun and be safe. Bathtub
