Kori, Every river in the area will be stuffed with Coho (Silvers) salmon during your visit. There will also be a few Chinook (Kings) and the beginning of the Chums starting to show. Should be lots of opportunity around for you.

Petzold is right, he can point you in the right direction. The silvers are thick in a couple rivers around Fort Lewis, and I am familiar with those, if you want to shoot me an e mail. I sent you one last night. Justin

While the salmon fishing will be pretty good this year, esp. about that time, for a fly fishing target, I'd vote for searun cutthroat. They will also be in around then, run 12-18 inches, are a great fly rod fish, and few people fish for them, cuz most folks are after the salmon. My e-mail address is andrewbr@attbi.com. Jot that down, and drop me a line closer to your arrival, and I'll be happy to help you try to find some fish.
