I'm stuck in class all day today, but am planning on going out tomarrow. Anybody do any good today? I would like to stay away from area 10 as there are to many derbies. I was thinking most likly Mid-Channel, but since today was so calm, I'm sure tomorrow will be miserable. frown ???

NEN cool

Water was great, Weather was great. Fishing was horrible in area 10. Derbies are Saturday only so sunday should be fine as far as boats go. Its a desert out there though. I don't even think they filled the ladder up. When I pulled out a little before 2pm a 5 lbs fish was leading the Manchester derby. S*&^^y.

Part of the "honey-do's" today was taking my daughter to the movies in Port Orchard.. On the way, stopped at the ramp in Manchester to see how things went. Talked with one fella who took an 8#'r on a spoon. Told me that there was very little bait in the area. By the looks of what I saw, tons of boats between the fuel rigs and the Southworth point- no action was told.

Speaking of Southworth, can someone tell me what the ramp on Olympiad (sp?) Rd looks like at low tide? Was there about half way through the flood and looked like I would have no problem with my 16'.

They call that Harper Ramp. My favorite place to launch when you have the water. If you play your tides right and make sure when you want to get out and in you have 7ft (maybe down to 5-6 with a 4wd to retrieve) your good to go. Certain times of the year (July-Sept) its just as crowded as the rest. I have a 16ft aluminum and a Ford Ranger and use it allot.

Rockfish,

Thanks for the report. Did you get any info on where they were bringing them in from? Did you have any success yourself?

didn't buy a ticket, thought weather was gonna stay nasty, but was a pond from the looks of it that morning and afternoon. asked the guys waithing a lena's till the derby was over to see if they won anything and they thought I was some yahoo or somethin and said a bunch of b.s. but of the boats waiting there most were lacking downriggers.
