OK Guys, fishing was "good AND spotty" not "good to spotty" (FJ) and not "good or spotty" (King). I know I should have started another v-hook thread. wink kidding. I know it was confusing but I wanted to keep it short and tell you guys that fishing was or is? good.

My weird definition of "good and spotty": If you were in the right spot the fishing was good cool
For example one day I fished about 10 hours with no hook up until 5 PMish. On my 134th last cast, fish on, drag going, fish jumped and gone before I even realize what happened. My hands were cold and numb and I wasn't really expecting any thing after 10+ fish less hours. That's why they say "Expect a fish on every cast" ... true but not easy. After this I gained some energy and with heart pumping faster, my hands warmed up and in the next 1/2 hour I released 2 more in the same general area. The fish were small (7-8 lbs.) and hot. Now I call this a good and spotty day. All my fish came in one spot after 10+ hours. I rather get one every 3-4 hours that way it keeps me warm. A very nice guy came down and asked me if he can fish the hole. I wasn't expecting the permission thing at all. He hooked one as well but it was getting dark frown

Overall it was very cold and I had to work over time. No banker's hours or part time fishing. For some reason the fish were not spread out but they were there. I think it will get better with warmer days if the rivers stay in shape. I am hoping I can go next week.

Ditto. Fished all day Friday and didn't hit one until 5pm....landed a nice 38" - 20lb buck after a 20 minute battle...took a couple pics and sent him on his way. It was a beautiful thing. I fished hard another day and a half without a significant headshake and it didn't matter.
