I am a little new to pulling bait divers and I was hoping to check myself against those who might have a little more experience than myself...

I see so many guys using divers holding their river position and really gridding the holes. This seems to go against the 'presenting bait naturally' theory, I have heard people talk about using a faster drop but never any specifics. A faster drop makes more sense to me.

I was hoping someone would have the time to share how they fish divers from a driftboat...

There's also a lot to be said of sticking it in their face and waiting for them to succumb to temptation. Also, sometimes when you just KNOW that there are fish in there, you may sit on them a while. Not always so easy with a drift boat but backtrolling with a motor, its cake. Not that I approve, but I have seen guys park in a favorite spot till limited or sorearmed. I've never noticed a need for a "natural" presentation with bait. You've either got something they'll eat or you don't. If a natural presentation is necessary, I had better get out there and tell all those plunkers that they're wasting their time.

Divers arnt used by many who C & R Steelies! I know how to use them and am a self proclaimed expert. But by the lack of hepl your getting you can see most here will not help kill or increase mortality rates! Go to Steelheader.net...
