I started using some Seducer rubber eggs by Big Poly recently and have had pretty good luck with them. One Steelhead for each trip the last three times I've been out.

Just wondering if there are other imitation eggs out there that people have had success with and if anyone has tested them against real eggs?

T-BONE, Besides using my own cured eggs, I like to boondog a jensen egg and a sandshrimp tail.
I brake the tail off a med-large sandshrimp, then thread in up and over a #2 or #1 gamakatsu red
octopus hook, up onto the leader. Then I thread a red jensen egg over the hook, past the eye,so the jensen egg and sandshrimp tail ride on leader on top of the hook eye. Works cast after cast, very deadly for summer and winter steelhead.Try it as a back up to eggs , it realy works laugh

I have been using them successfully this past winter for steelhead and looking forward to trying them with springers. The eggs that I use come in a very real-looking skein pattern that connects individual eggs with yarn. This makes them easy to slip into an egg loop and provides an incredibly real presentation. You can purchase the eggs in a variety of colors at:

They've been getting much better in recent times! I agree that the Seducer's are the best, followed closely by the egg scented Smelly Jelly rubber eggs. I use the small ones in place of the long time fav Jensen egg sometimes to augment shrimp tails, crawfish tails, or small real egg clusters. Using them on the shank of jighead hooks as you would a pink worm also works really well (especially with some collar hackle). But I still like using two pink Jensen eggs with some white or light pink yarn as a great egg saving drift rig. ... If and when we get to the point of widespread bait restrictions, these improving rubber things are a great advent for us.

A magnum BC Orange Gooey with a tuft of white wool is deadly on winter runs, I know guys that fish this as their first rig and hook fish consistently. I don't believe the brand of rubber egg is of much importance (although color is), but some guys like to sweat the details of everything.

Recently I started using Splitshot Drift Eggs threaded onto a white feather jig. They are hand poured, scented and come in several different colors. Great for lower water situations.
