I hope you have everything backed up good. Sounds like Jenny is stressin'. What would we do if we couldn't discuss the "issues" that affect as those who fish? What would I do while killing time at work? If not for this site and others like it I am sure I would probably lose my job as I would be spending hours cruising sites that I am sure my Boss would find offensive. things like

If your server colocation provider isn't providing nightly backups, Bob, then you need to find a different colo. Friendly advice from someone who knows.

Got up Sunday Morning and ifish was down. Usually, it's just a flip of a switch. My friendly ifish ISP doesn't understand RAID 5, so he hit a couple buttons trying to expedite our return to the world wide web. He hit the wrong one and reinitialized the whole darn thing!
Then... the not so funny comedy of errors continues... He's calls the REAL tech, who really is good, but is human, also.
When tar balling the entire site, he forgets to initiate the program that auto backs ifish up every night.
So, I have a copy of ifish from before the server upgrade, before the infopop upgrades, and I lose one month's postings...
We tried putting the clobbered drives into another system, with a functional
array, and it will not initialize the second array. We can't even try to
look for files.
They are, right now, looking into data recovery, which is rather expensive. However, if the array was re-initialized the striping would have been overwritten making it unrecoverable. Probably not an option.
I'll probably just use the March 9th board and we can be boosted back into time...

Time to redo the templates, reupload the new smilies, oh....... never mind, but I'll be a busy little springer-less girl. (But then, what's new? )
Ifish will be back, I just have tons of work to do to get there....
I'd like to go play the piano now, OK?

If you truely have functioning RAID-5 or RAID-S, there shouldn't be an issue with lost data. Might want to search for a very good tech vrs. an average good one to reload from the ghost array.

All this time I've been thinking that this PP site was hosted on Olypen, but when I saw Dave's post I went and checked, looks like it's on NW Nexus, that makes me feel a little better... not sure these other, smaller ISP's are up on their backup routines... at least I wouldn't bet on it.
