There should be some springers and late winter run/early summer run steelies showing up by now. Anyone been catching any?

Whoops, I forgot to mention my timeframe. I may be down there the first weekend in May. Should stuff be in by then?

Floated it Saturday and didn't see or hear of a fish caught, but it was blown out. They should definitely be in there the beginning of May.

Fished it Saturday from Deadline to just above Saddle Rock. As related, the river is blown. Fished the edges for hours and C&Red one small native steelhead of about 20".

I talked to the fish checker and asked about the salmon. She said they had not had any return to the hatchery, but she had checked 5 along the river the previous week. If there are any around, this high water should distrubute them in the river. I wouldn't mind being there when the river drops back in, but between the ongoing rain and the snowmelt, I have no idea when that might be. I'll be back down there on Saturday, but it may not be much better by then.
