Have fished the Mouth of the Kalama area a few times to date and haven't seen a decent day there yet (other than 1 day of good C&R for Nates) trolling or anchoring!!And with the mud coming down the Washington rivers right now, I think I'd look for a spot on the O-side, like down below Willow Grove at Stella or County Line over on the Oregon side.

Good luck, where ever you wind up!

I fished across from county line Sun. and Monday.Sunday the water was o.k. I only saw a couple fish caught all day.3 guys in one rig were being checked at Willow Grove though and had 3 fish. Monday went to the same area. The water was really muddy. After a couple hours, went up by the Rainier Bridge on the Oregon side. The water looked a little better.Saw 1 fish caught out of a boat.Maybe 2-3 off the bank.
This was with a couple hundred boats both days. And a whole lot of bankies.
I dont know what the problem is.It seems like the fish are there. The water is a couple degrees warmer than last week. They just dont want to bite.
The fish checker at Willow Grove told us Monday,we were the 43rd boat he checked. Not a fish yet.
Pretty frustrating. With all the rain this week I dont see the water color getting any better.I think I'll fish higher up this weekend.

My guess would be the Columbia will still be mud. Frt fishing off the mouth of a clear running river. It will also be running very high compared to last year..
