Going to make a trip in early June out there for kings (tired of putting all those Area 10 fish back!) It's been several years since I've been out and need some advice on where to stay - will likely slip the boat at Big Salmon. Also, any thoughts on where to fish for kings out there would be much appreciated - I know the area for bottom fish but not salmon.

Thanks,

Can't say I'm an expert, but fished neah Bay for 3 days last year, early July. Loaded up on all the coho I could dream of. Also boated 2 days of limits on kings to 34 lbs. Kings came from just west of Tatoosh Island but mostly from Skagway Rocks. In one morning got our limit at Skagway plus lost two others in 25-40 lb range. Skagway is early morning or late evening fishery, as is very shallow, right along the kelp beds & rocks. Trolled 25-30 ft deep, green hotspot flasher with green/white coyote spoon. I was doing better than the bait trollers using cut plugs in there, at least then.
Town was begging for customers, we had our pick of places to stay as most people go to Sekiu instead. Camped at RV Park just as you come into town, they had nice grass tent sites and more important walk-in coolers for fish storage. Reminder, Neah Bay closes June 16 until July 7 for salmon according to the regs just released.

FT - Thanks for the help - I'll post a report after the trip.
