After the last few years of the wind river fishery I have become totally disgusted by the amounts of fish carcasses that are left on the banks instead of being thrown back in the river. So I have come up with an idea that might help to keep it cleaned up a little better and at least smelling better and make for a better fishing experience for all.
I was thinking of posting some signs in a few of the most popular spots that read something like this. Please throw all fish remains and carcasses in the river and please pack out your litter!
Do any of you think it will help , or Am I just dreaming ?

The hillbillies that toss their garbage may not comprehend your conservation message. I think your sign should be targeted to their needs and motivations....like

I think it's a great idea Joe. As we talked about at the Wind River clean up event last spring, it would help a lot if the state or county would put up garbage cans at a few key trailheads to the popular banks spots. ~~~~~~~~~~

Co-incidence, Joe just called right during typing this post. He said that Vision Tackle will help buy some of the signs (he knows some good sign makers). I put in to buy one, to help out. Maybe some of you hard core canyon fishers could also help in that way. And also write some letters to the state and county to get involved via garbage can service. It would also help if the WA gammies would pay a few more visits to hand out snagging and littering tickets.

What are gammies RT? i think i saw one once back in 8th grade but that was the last time and i fish just about every weekend. 4 years without seeing a gammie and counting...
